Fire Engulfs Shed Outside Eastside Restaurant, Cause Under Investigation

Narrative:
Firefighters were sent to 1745 Parkside Drive overnight for a fire involving a shed outside Sumo Steakhouse & Sushi Bar.
Firefighters from Station 8 (on Lien Road) arrived to find the shed fully involved with flames reaching upwards of 15 feet high. Engine Co. 5 also provided an additional water supply as Station 8 battled the blaze. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the nearby restaurant.
MGE responded to shut down electrical service to the area for safety, and the MFD’s Fire Investigation Team is looking into what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
