Narrative: 

Three people are displaced from their home following a fire that's currently under investigation and considered potentially intentional.

The Madison Fire Department was dispatched to the 400 block of Starling Lane with reports of flames coming from a home there. While en route to the scene, Madison Police advised MFD that all occupants were out of the home, and firefighters confirmed this following primary and secondary searches of the building.

Upon arrival, Engine Company 10 observed flames coming from the doors and windows. They began fire attack utilizing water from their 500-gallon engine tank until Engine Company 8 arrived to supply a hydrant. The fire was knocked down at 10:27 p.m. No other nearby homes were impacted.

A person of interest has been identified in connection with this fire. Investigators advise this appears to have been an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. Madison Police are assisting with this ongoing investigation.

The American Red Cross responded to provide assistance to those displaced by the fire.
