Engine Company 8 was called to the parking lot of Walmart on Nakoosa Trail for a vehicle on fire.

Firefighters arrived to find the engine compartment of a 2017 Toyota Rav 4 fully involved with fire. Fire was extending into the interior for the vehicle.

The crew pulled a 1¾-inch hose line and applied a mixture of water and foam to the fire. After the fire was extinguished, owners of surrounding vehicles came to move their vehicles away from the Rav 4. They were advised to have their vehicles checked for damage that may have resulted from being in close proximity to the fire.

The owner of the Rav 4 was eventually identified and asked to have the vehicle towed to the dealer where he bought the SUV. The cause of the fire is unknown.
