Fire Department

A South Carolina man was traveling along Interstate 90 on Saturday night when another motorist alerted him that his vehicle was on fire.

Engine Company 8 responded to westbound I-90 to find the pickup truck pulled onto the shoulder with fire showing from both the engine and passenger compartments. The driver was safely away from the fire and found refuge in a State Patrol squad car.

Firefighters pulled a handline from Engine 8 and extinguished the fire. The engine, engine compartment, and passenger compartment  suffered extensive damage. The cause of the fire is unknown.
