The cause of a vehicle fire that occurred on the 1100 block of East Washington Avenue is under investigation.

Smoke was coming from the Ford Focus when Engine 3 pulled up to the scene just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. A small fire was still burning on the front passenger seat with debris and a couple dollar bills also catching on fire.

Firefighters used a water extinguisher to put out the fire, and damage was contained to the front passenger seat. The vehicle's owner wasn't initially on scene but arrived while firefighters were putting out the fire.
