One person was injured after an elevator reportedly dropped two floors before coming to a sudden stop.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to The Hub apartments Saturday evening, where they located the elevator in question on the second floor. Two people were inside the elevator at the time of the reported malfunction, and one stated she fell and hit her head as a result.

As Medic 6 assessed the patient, Ladder Company 1 investigated the elevator. Ladder 1 could find no signs of malfunction; the elevator car moved smoothly from floor to floor and stopped normally on the second floor.

The injured occupant was taken to the hospital for further evaluation and medical care.
