** Eagan Road between East Towne Boulevard and Lien Road and Theirer Road intersection is closed due to gas leak. Please avoid the area! **

Firefighters responded to a gas leak shortly after 3:00 pm after a citizen had reported smelling gas behind a building on the 1700 block of Eagan Road.  It was found that it was a significant leak, so  additional fire crews to assist in evacuating a one block area around the building.

Reverse 911 was used to notify nearby businesses.

Gas was shut off at 4:07 pm, but streets and buildings are still closed so the buildings to be ventilated of the natural gas.

Crews are still on scene.
