Address:
2200 Sheridan Dr

Narrative:

Stella, a Labrador, was enjoying the beautiful day at the Warner Park Dog Park until she fell through thin ice,

Around 6:25PM, Firefighters from Station #10 were dispatched to a Lake Rescue response for a dog in distress. Paramedics were first on location and performed a recon. The pond was some distance away from the parking lot.

The Lieutenant from Engine 10 spoke to Stella’s owner and he said the she had been in the water for a half hour. Firefighters could see only Stella’s head above water. She was unable to pull herself up on to the ice.

The Lieutenant asked Lake Rescue to bring their Rescue Alive Sled to the pond. Stella was about 140’ from shore, so the Lake Rescue team members put on rescue dry suits and retrieved Stella with the Rescue Sled.

Stella’s tail was wagging when she was reunited with her owner.
