Fire Department

Ladder 6 was sent to Schmidt’s Towing on Beld Street for a report of a vehicle fire. Crews found a BMW 740 iL with a burning engine compartment. They used their bumper line and foam to extinguish the fire, but the cause of the fire is unknown. The vehicle had been involved in a crash earlier and suffered significant front-end damage.

The tow truck driver says he was beginning to unload the car from his vehicle when it started on fire. He was able to finish removing the car and pull the tow truck away without it being damaged. Nobody was injured.
