A bicyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries while traveling along State Street Sunday afternoon. The cyclist reportedly needed to stop unexpectedly but was unable to un-clip his feet from the bicycle pedals in time. He fell over and hit his face on the handlebar, resulting in a facial injury that would require stitches. Engine Company 1 happened to be passing through State Street at the time. They approached the patient, bandaged his injury, and offered to page an ambulance if needed. The patient said he’d take himself to the hospital and declined emergency transport from MFD.
