One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash turned vehicle fire on Raymond Road.

Madison Police reported one person trapped inside a vehicle with major damage as Medic 7 arrived on scene. Heavy smoke emanated from the engine compartment, soon turning to fire as first responders attempted to make contact with the driver. The driver, who was pinned inside of the vehicle due to the significant damage to the engine compartment, was unresponsive.

Ladder Co. 7 and Engine Co. 7 began fire attack, and firefighters were also able to open the driver’s side door using extrication tools to free the driver. The individual sustained multiple traumatic and fire-related injuries and was transported to a local ER.
