Crews Respond To Fire In Blooming Grove
Madison, WI
A controlled burn grew out of hand in the town of Blooming Grove Tuesday morning, prompting response from the Madison Fire Department and the Cottage Grove Fire Department.
Initial reports indicated a barn or a house was on fire, and responding companies were advised the two buildings were close to one another. Engine Company 13 was first on scene reporting fire between the structures, but neither was on fire yet.
Due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, tenders were called in to supply additional water. As they awaited response from the Cottage Grove Fire Department, Engine 13 began applying water to the buildings to protect them from catching on fire. Once the tenders were on scene to supply additional water, Engine 13 knocked down the fire, bringing it under control.
There were no injuries and no damage to property.
