Fire Department

Firefighters were dispatched to a fire on the 1400 block of Williamson Street. Medic 3, Engine Co. 3, and other east side crews arrived to find smoke coming from the third floor of a residence. A 360-degree survey of the property did not reveal any other sources of smoke.

Engine Co. 3 entered the home, made their way to the third floor, and located a small fire. The fire was extinguished and the interior ventilated. Meanwhile, Ladder Co. 8 and Engine 3 found and extinguished additional fire in the walls and adjacent exterior roof line.

The Madison Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Team responded to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. No occupants were displaced or injured.
