Narrative: 

Madison Fire Department crews were dispatched at 3:04 am to a single family residence on Doncaster Dr for a reported structure fire.  A neighbor reported visible flames and smoke on the front side of a neighboring residence. The neighbor also reported no one was living in the residence and that it was under construction.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed that fire was visible on the front side of the residence. Crews immediately began search and fire suppression operations. Firefighters searched the basement, first floor and second floor to make sure nobody was in the residence.

Fire was located in the basement and flames extended to the first floor, second floor and into the attic. Crews were sent to the roof and several holes were cut in the roof in coordination with fire suppression operations. Crews reported deteriorating structural conditions inside the residence during fire suppression and search operations.

At the time of this press release overhaul operations are continuing. The 2 story single-family residence was unoccupied and is under renovation. No damage estimate is available at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Any further information will be released as it becomes available.
