Fire Department

On Sunday, Engine 5 arrived at Fen Oak Drive and found two separate brush-and-grass fire burning. Firefighters also noticed areas where the fire may have self-extinguished. Using flails and brooms, Engine 5 firefighters extinguished the fires. The Lieutenant also requested the Brush truck to respond to help with extinguishment.

When the fire reached a mown walking trail, the fire self-extinguished in those areas. Several spot fires had to be extinguished after the fire jumped the trail. Crews walked the fire line to check for other burning areas and found none.

Investigation Unit is looking as to how the fires may have started.
