Narrative:

The Madison Fire Department is on scene of a crash at Cottage Grove Road & S. Stoughton Road. Paramedics came upon the scene moments after it occurred and were able to immediately determine there were multiple serious injuries. Four ambulances, three engines, two ladders, Squad 8, and Command Car 31 responded to provide emergency medical care and to extricate passengers. Two people died at the scene. Two additional people were transported; one with life-threatening injuries and the other with non-life threatening injuries.

Cottage Grove Road is anticipated to remain closed near Highway 51 for the next several hours as Madison Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol continue to investigate the crash.
