Fire Department

Firefighters were  called to an apartment on Midland Street for a possible structure fire. Engine Company 4 found moderate heat and visible moisture in the air when they entered the unit. The wall in a bathroom was hot and discolored due to steam leaking from a pipe inside the wall. Firefighters removed some of the drywall to get a better look inside. Although there was a lot of steam vapor, there were no signs of smoke or fire.

Firefighters proceeded to the basement and turned off the furnace. The landlord was updated on the situation, and he stated a repair worker would be responding within the half-hour.
