Date & Time:
Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Location(s):
Central Library
201 W Mifflin St.
Madison, WI

Did you know 90% of Wikipedia contributors are men? Never edited Wikipedia before? No idea where to start or what to do? No problem - we've got you covered.

Attendees will view a tutorial on how to contribute to Wikipedia, and we'll have several experienced editors on-hand to answer questions and help with trouble-shooting. All are welcome to come, pick up some skills, and add / improve whatever content they like.

Come anytime between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.

WHAT CAN I DO?
There are a ton of ways you can participate as an individual, or partnering with a friend or fellow WiT member, including:

  • Write new articles (we'll have a list of suggestions available)
  • Help with research (we'll have pre-selected library books on-hand)
  • Fact-check existing articles
  • Add citations to existing articles
  • Expand existing articles
  • And more!

We recommend bringing a laptop if you have one, but the library is also providing some for us to use, so don't let that stop you!

The library is fully accessible; there's nearby parking garages or street parking. Kids are 100% welcome.

In collaboration with Madison Women in Technology and The Art Write Collective.
