Explore the beauty of Cherokee Marsh trails in winter with Master Naturalist Alex Singer.  Learn about the magic flow of sap rising in Maples and other trees with the lengthening of days and how sap is gathered and made into syrup. Enjoy a campfire and hot chocolate after the walk - and perhaps a s'more with a bit of maple syrup! Free, family friendly nature outing, no pets, no registration required.

Cherokee Marsh is Madison’s largest conservation park. Explore beautiful trails through the woodlands, wetlands and restored prairies along the Yahara ‘Catfish’ River. Co-sponsored by Madison Parks, Friends of Cherokee Marsh and Madison Audubon Society. Follow North Sherman Ave. to the parking lot at the end of the gravel entrance road.
