The Wild Rumpus Winter Circus presents:
“Punky Rumpus,”
Feb. 10 at 2pm and 7pm and Feb. 11 at 2pm, 2018 at the Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa St. Madison
Since 2008, the Wild Rumpus Circus has been producing a “winter circus” which weaves circus acts into an original storyline, aimed at bringing together seasoned and new performers of all ages and doing some good for the community. Our all-ages cast is concocting a completely original, most mechanical, awesomely acrobatic and simply entertaining showcase with swinging pirates, hilarious mad inventors, elegant giant dolls, and much more.
Proceeds from the show will benefit the Wild Rumpus Circus Scholarship fund, which awards several thousand dollars each year to families and individuals who benefit from the study of circus arts but need some financial assistance in order to do so. Past winter circus productions have also benefitted the Goodman Center, Dane County Parks, and the Small Planet Foundation.
Performances are on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2pm and 7pm and on Sunday, Feb. 11at 2pm. The suggested donation is $12.50 for adults and $7.50 for kids. Online/advanced reservations are available at www.therumpusroom.org. Plenty of seats will also be available at the door for all shows.
Directed by professional performers Jacob Mills and Marcia Miquelon, the winter circus uses a collaborative process to give performers an engaging 3-month experience in creating and presenting polished performance work, and offers audiences of all ages a zany way to warm up winter. Mills and Miquelon also perform locally and internationally, and offer classes and camps throughout the year aimed at sharing the joys of circus arts with all generations.
