Site will only be open afternoons and weekends.

The Streets Division drop-off site at 1501 W. Badger Rd closed on March 25, 2022 and it will remain closed until at least the spring of 2023.

On Monday, April 4 at 3:00pm, a temporary drop-off site will open at 121 East Olin Avenue.

This site will have special hours that are different from the South Point and Sycamore locations. And the site will be available at these hours until November 27, 2022.

The site will accept all of the same material that is accepted at the South Point and Sycamore locations.

Temporary Site Hours
The temporary drop-off site will be open the below hours:

  • Monday: 3:00pm to 7:00pm
  • Tuesday: 3:00pm to 7:00pm
  • Wednesday: 3:00pm to 7:00pm
  • Thursday: 3:00pm to 7:00pm
  • Friday: Closed
  • Saturday: 9:00am to 4:00pm
  • Sunday: 9:00am to 4:00pm

This drop-off site will also be closed during holidays.

Your Safety at the Temporary Drop-off Site
The temporary drop-off site is also the location of the brush processing and waste transfer facility.

For your safety, you must only use this drop-off site during its posted hours.

Do not arrive early.

When using the drop-off site, you must stay within the designated drop-off site area as well.

Fee Stickers Not Available for Purchase at Olin Ave
You will not be able to purchase fee stickers in person at 121 E. Olin Avenue.

Any item requiring a fee sticker must have one attached before it will be accepted at the drop-off site.

How to Purchase a Recycling Fee Sticker
Certain items require a fee for drop off or curbside pickup. The list can be found on the Streets Division’s website.

In order for an item that requires a fee to be accepted at the drop-off site, the item must have the appropriate recycling fee sticker affixed to it.

You have four options to purchase a fee sticker.

  1. Online
Use the work order system at www.cityofmadison.com/LargeItemWorkOrder.
 
After completion your purchase, the appropriate stickers will be mailed to you.
  1. Call
You can call our offices and make a credit card purchase over the phone.
 
The appropriate fee sticker will be mailed to your home following the purchase.
 
If you live east of South Park Street, you can call 608-246-4532. If you live west of South Park Street, you can call 608-266-4681.
  1. In-Person
You can also purchase the stickers in person from our offices.
 
Our offices are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd and 4602 Sycamore Ave. The offices will be open 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. In person, you can use cash, check, or credit cards.
 
Stickers are not available at the Streets Division locations at 121 E. Olin Ave. and 402 South Point Rd.
  1. Mail
Checks can be mailed to our office to purchase the fee stickers. You must also include a note explaining the purchase.
 
The check should be payable to City Treasurer.
