Metro Transit will host Rachel Simon, author of Riding The Bus With My Sister, for a talk and book signing at the Madison Public Library on Thursday, October 6 starting at 5:30 PM.

About the Book:
Rachel Simon's sister Beth is a spirited, independent woman who has an intellectual disability and who has forged a unique alliance with her community through her travels on the local buses. Her bestselling memoir, Riding The Bus With My Sister, chronicles the year she spent riding the buses with Beth, as well as their lives together from birth to middle age. Riding The Bus With My Sister has been adapted into a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie starring Rosie O'Donnell and Andie McDowell.

About the Author:
Rachel Simon is the award-winning author of six books and a nationally-recognized public speaker on issues related to diversity and disability. Her titles include the bestsellers The Story of Beautiful Girl and Riding The Bus With My Sister. Both books are frequent selections of book clubs and school reading programs around the country. Rachel's work has been adapted for theater, NPR, the Lifetime Channel, and Hallmark Hall of Fame, whose adaptation of Riding The Bus With My Sister starred Rosie O' Donnell and Andie McDowell, and was directed by Anjelica Huston.
