Metro Transit is requesting proposals from qualified Contractors to assist Marketing staff in several extensive marketing campaigns to promote large-scale organizational initiatives including a complete service redesign, bus rapid transit, and implementation of new fare collection technology.

Campaign goals are to increase generate public awareness, provide instruction on utilizing new services, retain current riders, encourage non-users to try the system, and demonstrate the positive impacts each initiative has on the entire community.

Metro is looking for a marketing or public relations firm to work with and supplement the efforts of its in-house marketing team utilizing current branding practices.

The awarded firm will report to Metro Marketing staff. Promotion efforts will include multilingual graphic design and video production for passenger/driver instruction materials, print/digital marketing, social media promotions, and broadcast/streaming advertising spots.

Marketing strategies will work within and supplement Metro’s current branding and outreach efforts. Initiatives will need to be promoted separately and in distinct ways to both riders/the general public and Metro drivers/operations support staff.

This project is partially funded with federal (FTA) funding and certain aspects could contain a DBE goal. The City of Madison posts all Request for Proposals, addenda, tabulations, awards and related announcements on two distribution networks – VendorNet and DemandStar.

The aforementioned documents are available exclusively from these websites. It is the Proposers responsibility to regularly monitor the bid distribution network for any such postings. Proposers’ failure to retrieve such addenda and incorporate their appropriate provisions in their response may result in disqualification. 

Both sites offer free registration to City Proposers.

  • DemandStar 
    National bid network – Free subscription is available to access Proposals from the City of Madison and other Wisconsin agencies, participating in the Wisconsin Association of Public Purchasers (WAPP). A fee is required if subscribing to multiple agencies that are not included in WAPP.
