Hooker Ave., Sheridan Dr., Steensland Dr. Resurfacing w/Utilities
Project Update
8/17/2021 Update:
This project has been rescheduled for 2022. Due to DNR permitting delays, the Contractor is no longer able to finish the project this year, so rather than two years of construction, the entire project will be completed next year. Work on this project is now scheduled to begin in early-Spring 2022 and will be completed in Summer 2022.
Project Overview
The Hooker Ave, Sheridan Dr, and Steensland Dr resurfacing project will include new asphalt pavement and spot replacement of curb & gutter, driveway aprons, and sidewalk as needed. New sidewalk will be constructed on the south side of Steensland Dr from where it ends mid-block to the bend at the Hooker-Steensland intersection. This new sidewalk will allow for off-street access to Sherman Ave from the nearby apartment buildings. No other new sidewalk is proposed with this project. Additional parking restrictions will also be implemented for the outside-edge of the Hooker-Steensland intersection for safety concerns. Furthermore, the project will include replacement of the underground utilities, including sanitary sewer main and sanitary laterals (up to property line) and replacement of storm sewer to improve street drainage.
