Novelist Rex Owens attended many UW Madison Writers Institutes and was inspired by conscious dreaming as a way to explore writing about life. His son brought him newspapers from Ireland and after reading a story of children injured in the Peace Zone in Belfast in 1998, he was inspired to write Murphy’s Troubles. Ian Padraic Murphy harbors a scandalous secret to avenge the death of his best friend. Will Ian pay the supreme price for disloyalty to the IRA?  Meet the author, Rex Owens at the Madison Senior Center, on Tuesday, July 14 at 1 pm to hear more about Murphy’s Troubles.
