Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program

WIC Program of Madison and Dane County, Wisconsin

The WIC Program works to improve the health of women, infants and children who may be nutritionally at risk by providing healthy foods, health information, and referrals to health care.

Eligibility

To be eligible for WIC benefits in Wisconsin, you must:

Be a resident of Wisconsin; and
Have a child under 5 years old or be pregnant; and
Be income eligible based on the WIC income guidelines (WIC staff will help determine income eligibility)
- You may be automatically income eligible if you participate in other programs such as:
  - FoodShare
  - Medicaid
  - BadgerCare Plus
  - Wisconsin Works Program (W-2)

Any legal guardians, including kinship care and foster parents can apply for WIC for their children.

Making an Appointment

Appointments are available over the phone (telehealth) or in person. Please call (608) 267-1111 to schedule an appointment.

We offer telehealth appointments on:

Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30am - 4:30pm
Wednesdays from 8:30am - 6:00pm
Thursdays from 12 pm - 4:30 pm
Fridays from 8:00am- 4:30pm

We offer in-person appointments at two locations:

South Madison Office, 2230 S. Park St:

Tuesdays 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Thursdays 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm

East Washington Office, 2705 E. Washington Ave:

Mondays 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Wednesdays 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
Fridays 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

If you have a scheduled appointment, you will get a text reminder and phone call from us on the day of the appointment.

WIC benefits will be loaded onto your WIC card at the time of your appointment.

If you have a phone appointment we will mail WIC materials to you ahead of time.
