Glacier Hill Park Sun Shelter and Master Plan
Last Updated: 02/20/2019
A new, open-sided, reservable sun shelter and asphalt walking path will be coming to Glacier Hill Park! The location of each of these amenities was discussed at a public meeting in late 2018 - materials from that session can be found at the links, below. Parks discussed the feedback received and the proposed projects with District 17 Alder Baldeh during a follow-up session in mid-February 2019.
The master plan describing these amenities will be moving forward for review and approval at the March session of Board of Park Commissioners, which will be held:
Board of Park Commissioners
Olbrich Botanic Gardens (3300 Atwood Ave)
Wednesday, March 13 at 6:30PM
Parks begins the planning effort for projects that will be bid and constructed in early-to-mid 2019 early so that the bidding and contract award process can stay on schedule.
The first meeting to discuss the project was held on 12/20/2018 at the Streets East Maintenance Facility (4602 Sycamore Ave). Materials from that session can be found at the links, below.
