Madison - On Wednesday night and into Thursday morning customers in a limited section of the southwest part of the City of Madison experienced low water pressure. Crews responding to these calls determined that a level transducer at Unit Well 20 had failed. This instrument controls the operation of the booster pumps which fill Sphere 120, the water tower on Prairie Road . This facility stabilizes pressure in the higher elevation areas in the Westhaven Trails, Maple-Prairie and Stone Meadows Neighborhoods. The instrument has been repaired and system operation has returned to normal.

Water Utility staff has determined that no harmful contamination occurred as a result of this failure.
