November 11-17

With the Presidential Preference Election only 14 weeks away, the City Clerk's Office encourages voters who have moved to update their voter registration.

The Common Council has declared a Voter Registration Week for November 11-17. Early registration will save voters time waiting in line at the polls, in addition to saving overtime costs in the Clerk's Office as the Statewide Voter Registration System becomes overwhelmed with statewide usage.

Eligible voters within the City of Madison can register to vote at one of the following locations:

* Hilldale Mall (November 12-16, 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
* East Towne Mall (November 16-17, 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
* Centro Hispano (normal business hours)
* Any Madison Public Library (normal business hours)
* Any Madison Fire Station (normal business hours)
* City Clerk's Office (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

The Madison City Clerk's Office processed over 42,000 voter registration applications this past year. The Clerk anticipates that up to 10,000 Madison voters will register for the February 19, 2008, Presidential Preference Election.
