Calling all artists! The Madison Arts Commission and The Bubbler at Madison Public Library are launching a new, 11-month artist residency program based out of a dedicated art studio at Thurber Park.

Artist(s) will carry out their residency in the Thurber Park art studio, and their work will culminate in a public art commission created during their time there. The artist or artist pair will also engage with the local community through free, open studio days, community workshops, neighborhood partnerships, and larger community events hosted out of their space.

The Thurber Park Residency program will provide the artist with funding, time, and space to develop their own art practice, as well as allowing for deeper community connections and the possibility for funding and guidance to develop a public art piece in the Darbo-Worthington neighborhood.

Art makers of all backgrounds and mediums creating durable, timeless art, suitable for outdoor public settings are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is Monday, June 24, 2019 by midnight CST. Apply online at: madisonbubbler.org/thurber-application
