Temporary Drop-off Site at 4141 Nakoosa Trail Now Open

The Streets Division drop-off site located at 4602 Sycamore Ave. is now closed for pavement repairs. The site will reopen later this year upon completion of the project.

A temporary drop-off site at 4141 Nakoosa Trail (the former Cub Foods location) is now open. The Nakoosa Trail site will be available for drop-off services during the time when Sycamore is closed.

All materials that are accepted at the Sycamore location will be accepted at the Nakoosa site, including electronics, household batteries, Styrofoam, clothing, and other items. All items requiring a fee sticker will still need one as well. Fee stickers will not be sold at the Nakoosa Trail site. They will need to be purchased from a Streets Division office, any City of Madison public library, the City’s Treasurer’s office, or online at www.madisonpay.com.

For a complete list of materials accepted at the drop-off site, and which ones need a fee sticker, please visit the Streets Division website. A list of acceptable materials for the drop-off site can also be found in the Recyclopedia where you can also find a chart that shows the items requiring a fee sticker.

All current restrictions for the Sycamore site will also be in place at Nakoosa. Contractors, non-residents, and individuals with oversized loads will be denied the use of the drop-off site. For more information regarding drop-off site restrictions, please refer to the Streets Division website or the Recyclopedia.

The temporary site at 4141 Nakoosa Trail is open the same hours as the other drop-off sites. The hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The site is open 8:30am to 8:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The drop-off sites at 1501 W. Badger Rd. and the yard waste only site at 402 South Point Rd. will not be affected by the project at Sycamore drop-off site.

Please note that while the drop-off site is now closed, the east Streets Division office at 4602 Sycamore Ave. will remain open for fee sticker sales and other services. Streets Division office hours are different from the drop-off site hours. The office is open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. There is a visitor parking lot adjacent to the front entrance of the Sycamore office.

For more information, please refer to the Recyclopedia, the Streets Division website, or call 608-246-4532 for the east side Streets Division offices.
