Several Madison streets will be closed this weekend for three Run Madtown races held by Madison Festivals. 

The Twilight 5K and 10K races will start at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27th.  The 5K route starts and ends on Capitol Square and uses Johnson Street, Dayton Street, Mifflin Street and West Washington Avenue.  The 10K route starts on Capitol Square, goes through the UW Campus area and back to the Capitol Square via Dayton Street.  A route map for the 5K and 10K is located here:            https://www.cityofmadison.com/trafficEngineering/documents/2017RunMadtownTwilight10kand5k.pdf

The Madtown Half Marathon race starts on the Capitol Square at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 28th.  The route goes through the UW Campus, down Monroe Street, through the UW Arboretum and back on the Southwest Commuter Bike Path to Dayton Street and back to the Capitol Square.  The course will be fully open to traffic by 11:00 a.m.  A route map for the Half Marathon is located here:  https://www.cityofmadison.com/trafficEngineering/documents/2017RunMadtownHalfMarathonMap.pdf

Volunteers and city police will be at intersections along the routes.  Traffic will be allowed to cross the routes only when there are sufficient gaps in the runners.  Drivers should plan on using alternate routes to avoid the race courses.
