 For the first time in Rhythm & Booms’ history, the show is being displayed over Lake Monona, offering spectacular viewing from many sites around Madison.
 
Join Madison Festivals on John Nolen Drive on June 28 for a festive atmosphere, great food, beverages, entertainment, live music and of course fireworks! Activities get underway at 2 p.m. Blankets and/or lawn chairs are encouraged. To get the true experience, including professional sound production and day-long festivities, it is recommended you join the festival grounds on John Nolen Drive beginning at 2 p.m.

City of Madison public parks for fireworks viewing
The City of Madison recognizes that people will also be gathering in the public parks surrounding Lake Monona. The City of Madison Parks and Streets Divisions will be providing additional trash and recycling containers, and in some cases additional restrooms and bike racks, in the following parks:
 
 

 
Special Circumstances with Olbrich Park and Beach
The City of Madison recognizes that there will be a greater number of viewers at Olbrich Park than at all of the locations. To assist with safety of the viewers after the conclusion of the fireworks, the Olbrich Park boat launch will be closed on June 28 from 8p.m. to 10:30p.m. In addition, if necessary, the East Police District will re-route traffic on Atwood Avenue to maintain public safety and a safe pedestrian crossing.
 
How to use the park:
 

  • We encourage you to be green. Bike or walk to the park. Limited parking available. Parking on the grass is prohibited.
  • Blankets may be put starting on June 28. Any earlier, the blankets will be removed.
  • Dogs, fireworks, sparklers, glass or grilling are not permitted.
  • Please be respectful of the surrounding neighborhoods and properly dispose of trash and recycling. Additional containers will be provided.

 
 Boat Launch Closings:
Olin Park boat launch will be closed the following days and times:  June 16-20 all day and June 24 – July 1 all day.
Olbrich Park boat launch will be closed on June 28 from 8:00p.m. – 10:30p.m.
 
We encourage all boaters to seek alternate launch sites. Go to: City of Madison Boat Launch sites
 
How YOU can help with Rhythm and Booms:
Before leaving the festival site or any of the public park viewing sites, please take a couple of minutes to clean up the area around you and properly dispose of your trash or recycling containers.
 
Volunteer:

  • Madison Parks is also seeking volunteers to help in cleaning up the public park viewing areas on Sunday, June 29 at 9:00a.m.  Everyone is welcome to help with the clean-up efforts!  A Madison Parks staff member will be located at each of the parks listed above to provide supplies.
