The new yard waste schedule begins October 11, 2020

The weekend weather looks great for yard work. Before you dust off the rakes, make sure you get the new leaves and yard waste collection schedule for your home.

All Madison residents have assigned days on when they should set out leaves for pickup for the fall of 2020. And the collections begins the week of October 11, which is next week.

Get the set-out schedule for your home at the Streets Division website, www.cityofmadison.com/yardwaste.

If you do not have internet access or have trouble with the online schedule, you can contact the Streets Division office that services your home to receive the set-out dates.

If you live east of South Park Street, including the isthmus, you should call 608-246-4532. If you live west of South Park Street, you should call 608-266-4681.

How Your Leaf & Yard Waste Collection Will Work
On the yard waste website, enter your address into the form titled “When Do I Set out Leaves & Yard Waste for Pickup?”

The form will show you three dates. All of the dates will be Sundays.

You should get your yard waste out on or by the dates shown.

Crews will be collecting leaves and yard waste from neighborhoods during work week following the date shown.

For example, if one of the set out dates for your home is Sunday, October 25 that means you should get your yard waste out on or by October 25 because collection crews will be working in your neighborhood sometime between Monday, October 26 and Friday, October 30.

Crews will be working the occasional Saturday this fall season in order to stay on schedule, but most collections will occur during the regular work week.

You must have the leaves and yard waste out by or on the date shown on the website. If you wait, you may get leaves out after crews have already been through your neighborhood, and you will need to wait until the next pickup for your home. Crews will not be circling back for piles set out late.
