Refuse and recycling scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2019 will occur.

Due to road conditions, arrival time of trucks may be later than their usual time in some neighborhoods. Please leave the collection carts in place until they can be collected.

Residents with a Tuesday refuse and recycling collection day are reminded to keep their refuse and recycling carts out of the street gutter until the road has been plowed curb-to-curb. Also, after carts have been collected, please remove them from the street gutter as soon as possible so they do not interfere with plowing operations.

Collection carts in the street are obstacles much like parked cars, and plow trucks must drive around them, which leaves a portion of the street unplowed.

All Madison residents are encouraged to use their driveway aprons for their collection carts throughout the year. During the winter, they interfere with plowing operations and during the warmer months, they interfere with street sweeping operations.

More information about Streets Division collection services and cart usage can be found on the Streets Division website, www.cityofmadison.com/streets.
