The Streets Division will not perform refuse, recycling, brush, or large item collections on Monday, September 7, 2020 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. The drop-off sites will also be closed.

Madison residents who have their refuse and recycling collected on Mondays by the Streets Division should instead place their scheduled cart(s) to the curb for collection by 6:30am on Tuesday, September 8.

Residents that have a Tuesday collection of refuse and recycling should also place their scheduled cart(s) out for emptying by 6:30am on September 8.

Only residents that have a Monday collection day will experience a delay in refuse and recycling pickup services.

All residents who set out carts after 6:30am on their scheduled pickup day may miss their collection opportunity and will need to wait until the next scheduled pickup day to have their carts emptied.

Streets Division crews will be diverted from their normal duties in order to collect refuse and recycling from the Monday and Tuesday collection areas on September 8. Other services, such as brush and large item collection, may be temporarily delayed.

The City of Madison drop-off sites will also be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

The drop-off sites will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 at 7:30am. Please note that drop-off site hours remain restricted. Check the Streets Division’s website to ensure the site is open before loading up a vehicle to bring material to a site, and also residents should be prepared to wait in a line before entering the sites.

Additional information about all of the Streets Division’s recycling and solid waste services is available at our web site www.cityofmadison.com/streets.
