The City of Madison is set to experience rain in the coming days, but many of our storm sewer inlets are still filled with the snow from the recent storm.  The City of Madison is asking residents to help clean out storm sewer inlets especially in low lying areas and intersections to help prevent flooding and water pooling that could lead to icy streets since temperatures are due to drop after the rain.

“City crews will begin working on clearing inlets,” Streets Division spokesperson Bryan Johnson said.  “However, there are so many storm sewer inlets in the city staff will not be able to get them all before the expected rainfall. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.”
