Curbside leaf and yard waste collection for the fall of 2018 is ending. The final guaranteed collection opportunity is ongoing.

While the Streets Division will try to provide at least one more curbside leaf collection this season for all residents of Madison, winter weather may prevent that from happening.

Residents with yard waste should instead bring the material to one of the drop-off sites. The drop-off sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd, 4602 Sycamore Ave, and 402 South Point Rd. At present, the drop-off sites are open 8:30am to 4:30pm seven days a week and until 8:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

On Monday, December 3, the drop-off site availability will change.

The site located at 402 South Point Rd will be closed for the season starting on Monday, December 3. The South Point Rd location will reopen at 8:30am on Saturday, March 30, 2019.

Also starting on Monday, December 3, the remaining drop-off sites at 1501 W. Badger Rd and 4602 Sycamore Ave will be open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 3:00pm.

Curbside Collection Information
Streets Division crews will collect leaves and yard waste from the curb until the piles are obstructed by permanent snow cover.

While immediate forecasts do not call for a significant snowfall, winter is fast approaching.

At this time, the Streets Division cannot guarantee that every Madison resident will receive an additional curbside collection opportunity before a winter event occurs. Adding additional yard waste to the curb, especially if collection recently occurred, may result in the yard waste being frozen to the terrace under snow and unavailable for pickup until the spring of 2019.

To learn if you should put yard waste to the curb for the final guaranteed collection opportunity, go to www.cityofmadison.com/yardwaste and click on the blue “Pickup Schedule” button.

If your neighborhood is shaded green for “Pickup Pending” please be sure your yard waste material is ready for the final guaranteed curbside collection of 2018.

If your neighborhood is shaded gray for “Season Over” this means the official collection window has ended for your neighborhood. You should not add any additional yard waste to the curb, and should instead bring it to one of the drop-off sites.
