The Northport-Warner Park neighborhoods will learn how they can make their community an even better place to live, work, do business, and enjoy area parks and open spaces this Saturday September 29 at the Warner Park Community & Recreation Center, from 10:30am to Noon. District Alderpersons and City staff will be there to explain the process for updating the Northport-Warner Park Neighborhood Plan, answer questions, and gather the community's input on what issues should be included in the planning effort.

From 1991-1992, the City of Madison, north side residents, social service providers, and the business community worked together to prepare a 10-year plan. The upcoming planning initiative will update the existing plan to determine what is still important to northsiders and to determine additional issues that the community would like to address. Some of the topic areas that will be covered include community services, economic development, parks and open space, safety, and transportation.

Neighborhood planning can help communities create positive change. Come learn how!
