We’re breaking ground on a new park and you’re invited! The public is invited to join Mayor Paul Soglin, Alder Maurice Cheeks, the Brotherhood, the Allied-Dunn’s Marsh Neighborhood Association and Madison Parks in a Groundbreaking Ceremony for Allied Park, located in District 10 on Madison’s Southside.

The new Allied Park was planned and designed in collaboration with the community with a focus on youth engagement.  Throughout the summer of 2016, Parks staff attended neighborhood-related events and hosted listening-sessions with the youth and community at-large to gain input on the new park’s design.

The approximately 1 acre of land was acquired by the Parks Division from the Community Development Authority in 2016 to be converted into a new park. Once completed this fall, Allied Park will offer a full-sized basketball court, an open-sided reservable picnic shelter, a Wi-Fi “hotspot,” a playground, a drinking fountain, youth hoops and four square courts.
