The Forestry Section has moved from the Parks Division to the Streets Division.

As part of the move to Streets, the Forestry website has been relocated to www.cityofmadison.com/forestry.

How to Contact Forestry
For tree concerns, such as damaged limbs, fallen trees, or general tree-related questions, residents should call 608-266-4816.

The regular office hours for Forestry is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.

Residents can also report a tree concern to the report-a-problem website, www.cityofmadison.com/reportaproblem.

For tree emergencies that occur outside of the normal Forestry hours listed above, contact the non-emergency police number at 608-255-2345.

What does Forestry do?
The Urban Forestry section provides tree planting, pruning, and maintenance for over 96,000 trees on city property along Madison streets.

Will there be any service changes with this switch?
No. Certain operations will become more efficient, however. For example, Streets Division vehicle operators will be able to team with Forestry’s trained arborists to facilitate more pruning. Instead of trained arborists driving trucks of brush to the processing center, vehicle operators will be able to perform that task while arborists continue pruning.
