7:00 - 8:30 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, Monona Terrace

The City of Madison is conducting a corridor study of John Nolen Drive and Blair Street from North Shore Drive to East Washington Avenue including portions of Wilson Street and Williamson Street. Wilson Street and Williamson Street from Franklin St to Blount St are scheduled for pavement replacement in 2018. Modifications in this area will be evaluated and ultimately taken into preliminary design. Modifications at the John Nolen Drive intersections at North Shore Drive and Broom Street will focus primarily on bicycle and pedestrian mobility and will be developed at a planning level only. Construction is not currently scheduled for these two intersections.

The first public involvement meeting, scheduled on Wednesday, November 30th, in the Monona Terrace, Hall of Ideas H, 1 John Nolen Dr., will include a brief presentation at 7:00 PM followed by a needs and goals exercise for interested participants. The City of Madison and engineering consultant representatives will be available to discuss the corridor study and address questions.

Several previous and ongoing studies exist along John Nolen Drive in the study area. The Blair Street Corridor Study will seek to build upon these efforts and be mindful of possible long term visions for the Monona Terrace and Law Park areas.

The project is in the data gathering stage at this point. Additional public meetings are planned including one describing the range of alternatives in Spring 2017, and one identifying the study recommendations in Summer 2017. Information regarding the study can be found on the study website:
