The Streets Division drop-off sites expanded hours will begin on Monday, April 5, 2021.

The yard waste drop-off site at 402 South Point Rd. will also open at that time.

What are the expanded drop-off site hours?

Beginning on April 5, the drop-off sites will be open for the following hours:

  •
  • Monday - 7:30am to 2:45pm
  • Tuesday - 7:30am to 7:00pm
  • Wednesday CLOSED
  • Thursday - 7:30am to 7:00pm
  • Friday - 7:30am to 2:45pm
  • Saturday - 9:00am to 4:00pm
  • Sunday CLOSED

What can I take to the drop-off sites?
The Streets Division website for the drop-off sites has a useful chart on what is accepted for disposal and/or recycling.

The drop-off sites at 1501 W. Badger Rd and 4602 Sycamore Ave will accept all of the material collected curbside. Additional services like electronics recycling, food scraps recycling, and cooking oil recycling are available at these locations.

The drop-off site at 402 South Point Rd. only accepts only yard waste and food scraps.

Will there be long lines to enter the drop-off site like last spring?
The Streets Division will continue to limit the number of people into the drop-off area at a single time.  Residents are also encouraged to continue practicing social distancing while at the sites.

During peak usage times, you may encounter a line so please remember to pack your patience along with your items that need disposal or recycling. The drop-off sites tend to be busiest on Saturdays and Mondays.

Who can use the Streets Division drop-off sites?
The sites are eligible for City of Madison residents and taxpayers only.

You must provide proof of residency or taxpayer status in order to use the drop-off.  Most users to the site present their driver's license as proof of residency, but other official documents like a utility bill or property tax receipt is acceptable.

Contractors may not use these locations for their waste disposal.
