Finally! Spring is officially here, Madison!  And to help clean up from yet another long winter slog, the city’s yard waste drop off sites are expanding their hours starting Saturday, March 25.
 
Starting on Saturday, March 25, all three of the Streets Division’s drop off sites begin expanded summer hours and will be open seven days a week (except holidays).  The sites will be open 8:30am to 4:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  And the sites will be open 8:30am to 8:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Expanded hours will end for the year on Sunday, December 4, 2017.
 
The sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd., 4602 Sycamore Ave, and 402 South Point Rd.
 
The Badger Rd. and Sycamore Ave. locations accept many different kinds of material for recycling and disposal.  Yard waste, brush, Styrofoam, household batteries, televisions and other electronics, and even more can be can be dropped off. The drop off site at 402 South Point Rd. still only accepts yard waste.
 
All three sites are available only for city of Madison residents or taxpayers.  Individuals using the site will be asked to prove their residency or taxpayer status, so be prepared to show a driver’s license or another official form – such as a utility bill or a tax bill.
 
Until the hours expand on Saturday, March 25, the drop off sites will be open for winter hours, meaning only the Badger Rd. and Sycamore Ave. locations are available, and they are open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 3:00pm.
