On Saturday, November 18, the Streets Division will perform curbside yard waste collection. Crews will be working a 10-hour day on November 18.

Considering that yard waste piles are growing in size and number, and the relative lateness of the fall season, it was determined by Streets Division staff that crews should work this Saturday in order to maximize the amount of material that can be picked up at the curb before the collection season ends.

Since crews are working Saturday, November 18, residents are encouraged to use the pickup schedule maps on the Streets Division’s yard waste website to track the progress of crews and learn when to set out material to ensure collection. The additional work day this week, plus the continuation of 10-hour shifts, means crews will be collecting from many areas during their time in the field.

Residents with yard waste are also reminded that they can take their material to one of the three yard waste drop-off sites. The sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd, 4602 Sycamore Ave, and 402 South Point Rd. These sites are open seven days a week from 8:30am until 4:30pm, and until 8:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These hours will remain in effect until 4:30pm on Sunday, December 3. Winter drop-off site availability begins on Monday, December 4.

For additional information regarding yard waste collection, such as how to set the material to the curb for pick up, visit the Streets Division’s yard waste website, www.cityofmadison.com/yardwaste, or call the yard waste hotline at 608-267-2088, or call the Streets Division operations office. Residents west of S. Park Street should call 608-266-4681, and residents east of S. Park Street (including the isthmus) should call 608-246-4532.
