All Madison streets will be plowed today, December 30, 2020.

A citywide plowing operation will begin this morning at approximately 7:00am. Citywide plowing takes 12 to 16 hours to complete. This means plowing vehicles will be circling through Madison neighborhoods from this morning on into the evening.

All residents are encouraged to choose off-street parking options throughout the day to assist with plowing. Be sure to follow all other parking rules and posted restrictions.

Refuse and recycling collection will occur as scheduled. Do not place your trash and recycling carts out into the street gutter for pickup. Use your driveway apron or clear a spot on the terrace. Carts in the roadway are an obstruction plow drivers must avoid.

What about a snow emergency?
Snow emergency declarations are made to trigger overnight parking restrictions throughout the entire city, including the Snow Emergency Zone.

As the plowing continues through the daytime hours today, a determination will be made by Streets Division staff if a snow emergency will be put into effect for the next two evenings in order to finish plowing operations. If a declaration is necessary, another release will be published later today with additional information.
