Madison Parks is partnering with the Clean Lakes Alliance, Friends of Monona Bay, and the Bay Creek Neighborhood Association to clean up debris at Bernie’s Beach. On Thursday, May 7 from 3:00-7:00 pm Madison Parks staff will be working with neighborhood and community groups to clean up trash and plant debris that has accumulated in front and around Bernie’s Beach on the southeastern shore of Monona Bay. The combination of low water levels and a consistent wind pattern has lead to an accumulation of debris, making this a great opportunity for the community to come together to clean up the Bernie’s Beach area in preparation of another great lake season.

Bernie’s Beach, located at 901 Gilson Street, is just one of dozen City of Madison Parks beaches that are open during the summer season. This neighborhood beach offers some of the best views of the downtown overlooking the south shores of Monona Bay.

Food and beverages will be provided by the Clean Lakes Alliance. If interested in volunteering, please contact Katie Van Gheem, at the CLA at Katie@cleanlakesalliance.com
