Unemployment Benefits
Unemployment resources serve an important part of the social safety net for Wisconsin workers. During the pandemic, the Federal Government expanded eligibility criteria by creating certain new programs.
- Unemployment Insurance
Workers who were laid off may be eligible for 26 weeks of regular unemployment. - Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)
Independent contractors, self-employed workers, or those with limited work history could be eligible for 39 weeks of emergency benefits under Pandemic Unemployment Assistance. - Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC)
Workers who have exhausted regular unemployment benefits may be eligible for 13 additional weeks of Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation. - Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC)
Gives $600 per week to those collecting regular unemployment, PUA, or PEUC.
