Fire Station 14 Brings Fire, EMS Protection to Southeast Madison
New Facility to Serve As Community Space, Training Center
Celebrate the Grand Opening of Fire Station 14 (3201 Dairy Drive) Friday, February 15, at 1:00 p.m.
Now serving the Owl Creek neighborhood, Dutch Mill Road, and the nearby vicinity, Fire Station 14 began operating on December 27, 2018, bringing emergency medical service and fire protection to a part of the city eager to receive faster emergency response.
A month and a half after going into service, Engine Company 14 is already making a difference with average response times of around five minutes.
In addition to serving as a fire station, this state-of-the-art facility was constructed to serve as a community meeting space and a training center. The community room may be reserved for public use, and it will also serve as a classroom for future fire academies and continuing education. For years to come, Fire Station 14 shall be a venue where recruits, officers, crews, and the community will meet, learn, and succeed together.
Special guests joining Fire Chief Steven Davis at the Grand Opening to celebrate this important milestone include Madison Mayor Paul Soglin, District 16 Alder Michael Tierney, and former District 16 Alder Denise DeMarb, who was a fierce advocate for the establishment of Fire Station 14. Station tours will be provided, as well as cake and refreshments.
