Latest Update

9/14/2022 Update:
The City of Madison and the Town of Blooming Grove have come to an agreement which will allow the roadways within the project area to be resurfaced immediately following the sanitary sewer installation. This resurfacing work will be completed by the Town of Blooming Grove, via the use of the City of Madison Contractor.  Resurfacing immediately following the sanitary construction will allow the Town to save on construction costs and by resurfacing a year earlier than expected, there will be no additional disturbance to residents next year. The new resurfacing will also allow for better snow removal this upcoming winter than would have been possible had the road only been patched. This work will take approximately four additional weeks with the construction being completed no later than Oct. 31, 2022.

Project Overview

This project will replace aging and deteriorating sanitary sewer main along portions of Worthington Ave, Powers Ave, and Thurber Ave.  The existing sanitary sewer has structural issues, operational issues, and is undersized. These issues make removing and replacing the sanitary sewer a necessity.  Sanitary sewer laterals will also be replaced from the sanitary sewer main to the pavement edge.
